Aion launched on the 22nd and 25th of September, depending on where in the world you are, so the game has been out for a full month already. In the post October Aion Community Address the Aion community team talks a bit about what's been going on so far.

One of the big thing being discussed in the post is the concern the players of Aion have raised about the amount of chat spam (with mostly gold selling stuff) and the number of botting players. If you've been following the spam issues you know that the team have been working hard to find solutions to this, some meassures have included needing to reach a certain level before you can use whispers and who functions ingame. The latest of those changes came with patch 1.5.0.11 where the level for whispers, who-function and ingame mail was raised to level 10.

Other meassures have been the new chat filter that was introduced in 1.5.0.10, which showed a massive decline in the number of spam messages players had to endure while they were playing Aion.

About the botting players, the team recognize how big an issue this is and have expanded their GM crew and also put together a special team dedicated to shut down the botters. In the post we're also told that the players can help to report botting by using the /AutoReportHunting while targeting a suspected bot. If a player recive a number of these reports they will start to be penalized.

We can also read that concerns have been raised about it being difficult to advance in level during certain stages in the game. The Aion team lets us know that their intention is to keep the grinding feel to a minimum and there are plans to increase the experience from quest rewards and the per kill experience of mobs in those stages of the game.

In this weeks Eye on Community, a question about clien instability has been answered, and it's also mentioned in this post.

The team have narrowed most of these problems to stem from the "Crysystem.dll error". The development team is working on short and long term solutions to this issue, which will most likely include additional settings for video, memory and system optimization within the Aion client.

In our opinion, it's been a bit of a shaky start with the server queue issues and the amount of spammers. But all these issues have been worked out by the team within a very resonable time which makes the future of Aion promising.
